workshops
Our background is in music and recording and we have a wealth of experience in delivering workshops to students of all ages. We love sharing our passion for our favourite subject with the musicians, engineers, producers and product designers of the future!
We can arrange all of the following (and more):
• short-form talks on music or music technology;
• hands-on microphone & recording workshops;
• product design sessions;
• insight to music technology history;
• best practices in the recording studio;
• wide range of resources including worksheets, quizzes, posters and graphics.
We can tailor our sessions to your students' age and knowledge level, and to whatever space and time you can make available.

We have plenty of experience in helping educators and we have a variety of ways to help you improve teaching and coaching skills.
MUSIC TECHNOLOGY
For HE staff who are now (thanks to the recently published National Plan) having to teach music technology for the first time, we have different levels of CPD training designed specifically to allow you to talk about miking, mixing, mastering and more with confidence!
RECORDING
For HE and FE educators, we can give one-on-one or group training in specific aspects of studio, home and live sound recording, drilling down into specialisms of product type or studio environment where necessary.
OTHER
If your staff need support in any other areas, including careers guidance, life skills, communication or even grammar and editing, we can definitely help!

minerva's own Trevor Coley has worked in the music industry for over 30 years. As founder of British microphone brand Sontronics, he has designed award-winning mics, worked with the world's top artists and studios, and done business all over the world.
minerva's Lisa Coley has run an international music equipment company for almost 20 years, before which she edited and wrote for various music and travel publications as well as working as a music and languages tutor.
We are friends with and have access to many talented composers, sound engineers and producers as well as people from other walks of life, all of whom are keen to share their knowledge with the next generation.
